Transform Your Challenging Moments Into Holy Joy

The word holy sounds intimidating, but it simply means to be set apart. God has chosen to set us aside, to protect and guard us in His love. He calls on each of us not just with the commandment “Be holy” but also a call for spiritual maturity - maturing into people more like Christ himself; being saved by Him while living separately from sin. It's God's great work that encourages our growth and sanctification through His never-ending pursuit of mercy and grace.

Parenting can be a challenging endeavor but it serves an important purpose in our lives. In fact, God uses parenting to help us become more like Him by leading us through difficult places and times of trial as He ultimately gifts us with Himself. Through these situations, we learn how to depend on the Lord, trust His plans for our life and rely on Him when confronted with stressful moments—allowing ourselves time to hunger and thirst after what is most meaningful: an intimate relationship with HImself.

Even in seemingly insurmountable moments, we must trust that God is at work. Will you have faith in Him and dedicate yourself to following His lead even when it isn't easy? To fully experience His power and grace require us to let Him into the hard places of our heart; trusting, obeying and believing He has something far greater than what meets the eye.

Some Thoughts:

1. What is the value of a difficult journey when it comes to developing maturity and resilience?

2. How is motherhood teaching us valuable lessons about being more like Christ?

3. How does taking on the role of a parent shape our spiritual lives and create growth in character, humility, and love?

A prayer for your day-

Gracious Father, we look to You with open hearts and minds. As our greatest need is knowing and treasuring Your presence in our lives, help us graciously surrender to You each day. May the Spirit of God indwell within us so that together He can guide us on a path towards holiness - even when life's challenges are heavy-laden upon our shoulders. Amen!
